We have a lot to say...
Have a seat at our table and make yourself at comfortable.
By: Andrea Sanchez-Mendoza This pandemic has been hard for all of us, and we have had to find different ways in order to cope with being quarantined for so long. It's easy to see why and from where we are all gaining this added extra weight from. Maybe it's from binge watching too many Netflix shows, or trying out one to many tik-tok recipes. What ever the reason is, we have all noticed a few extra pounds but don't worry you are not alone. "In a poll of more than 1,000 WebMD readers, nearly half of the women and almost one-quarter of the men said they’d gained weight “due to COVID restrictions”(MU Health Care).
We have all heard of the term freshman 15 before we go off to college, right? That you typically gain on average 15 pounds your freshman year due to a variety of different reasons. But what they don't tell you about freshman 15, is that once you are no longer a freshman you need to lose this extra added weight. It's not said publicly, but it's more of an unsaid rule between college students. So my question that I have been debating around for a while now, is if we should lose this extra added quarantine weight or keep it and start calling it the COVID curves instead? Now these added curves are by no means going under appreciated but as summer is right around the corner, and some restrictions are being lifted. The big elephant in the room is if we should once again start the Chole Ting trendy workout plan that everyone went crazy with at the start of quarantine, or just leave them be? Regardless of your decision to keep the 15 or lose the 15, that's completely up to you and how you feel. Just remember that some bigger curves were never a bad thing to beginning with. We should appreciate our bodies for what they are able to do, and learn to love our bodies no matter what they look like. So the big question of whether to call these extra added pounds the COVID curves or quarantine 15... well now that's up to you.
